INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  1. Determine the best mounting position and location in your vehicle so that the Battery Life Saver™ electronic device can be affixed to the charger and both can be attached to the vehicle or car battery. If there is not enough room to affix the Battery Life Saver to the charger they can be installed separately.
  2. Follow the instruction in the Vector VEC080 owners manual for installation and operation.
  3. Add the Battery Life Saver by attaching the leads to the automobile battery along with the leads of the Vector charger. Pay close attention to polarity, i.e. Red to positive and Black to negative
  4. Check to make sure that the green light on the Battery Life Saver electronic device  is on. If not the Battery Life Saver electronic device is connected backwards.
  5. Use a strip of adhesive, supplied in the package, to attach the Battery Life Saver electronic device  to the charger if room for both together. Orient the Battery Life Saver electronic device so that the fins are in an upright or vertical position. (See illustration below for one way of doing this).
  6. Set the timer to be "on" for twelve hours and "off" for twelve hours. Plug the timer in to a standard wall socket and plug the VEC080 into the timer (you'll probably have to use an extension cord)..
  7. Check to make sure that the red light on the charger comes on when the timer is on. If the battery has a full charge when you hook it up you may have to wait a few minutes for it to turn on. Follow the instruction with the timer concerning its operation.

Always end the storage with a complete charge. If it is inconvenient to end when the float charge is complete, use your Vector Smart charger to top it off.

The extenstion cord goes from the Vector charger (which is connected to the Battery Life Saver and the vehicle's battery), out from the vehicle and plugs into the timer (which would usually be plugged into an electrical wall outlet).
