It's spring, the snow has melted, the ground has firmed up and you are ready to start your field work. But your tractor won't start!
Battery failure after winter storage is a common occurrence as it will self discharge if not used and charged regularly. This causes a build up on the plates which prevents the proper flow of electricity.
The old way to deal with this would be to buy a new battery. The new way is to use our Battery Life Saver™ electronic device.
In the fall, when you are storing your tractor, attach a BLS 12 A along with a low output (1-2 amps) charger. Leave it on all winter. See The BatterySolver Package.
In fact, you can install the BLS 12 A permanently. This will keep it performing like new all year long and double or triple its life.
The BLS 12 A comes with pliers type clips. Attach the red wire to the positive terminal and the black wire to the negative terminal. Mount the The Battery Life Saver electronic device near the battery using # 10 screws or pop rivits.
If desired, the pliers type clips can be replaced with 5/16 diameter eye lugs, which will attach to the clamp bolt. This is a more permanent installation.
Remember to attach a trickle charger to the battery for winter storage or whenever the tractor is not used for more than several days. For heavy duty machinery with more than one battery, use the BLS-12/24-B or C. Follow the above procedures.
